WORLDSPACE(R) Launches Fox Sports Radio Channel
24-hour, Commercial-Free Programming Available on AfriStar(TM) Satellite Providing 'Voice From Home' to U.S. Troops, Coalition Forces and Expatriates

SILVER SPRING, Md., Mar. 6, 2006-- WorldSpace Satellite Radio, (Nasdaq: WRSP), one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services, today announced the expansion of its sports programming line-up with the launch of Fox Sports Radio, a commercial-free channel offering a wide variety of U.S. sports news and talk radio coverage to a potential audience of more than 380,000 American troops, Coalition forces and expatriates stationed or living abroad as well as its other listeners interested in U.S. sports.

Fox Sports Radio will be broadcast via WORLDSPACE's AfriStar(TM) satellite, making it available to subscribers in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The new channel will join WORLDSPACE's existing sports programming line- up: the U.K.'s talkSPORT -- delivering top news on European soccer, German football and rugby -- also on AfriStar; and PLAY -- offering comprehensive cricket coverage, Formula One racing and more, in its AsiaStar(TM) satellite coverage area including India.

"Fox Sports Radio is a critical component of our sports programming line- up, while serving as a voice from home for military personnel and expatriates who want up-to-the-minute news on their favorite U. S. sports, teams and athletes," said Billy Sabatini, WORLDSPACE's vice president of global content.

Fox Sports Radio will feature sports news and talk radio from some of the nation's top sports personalities, including Steve Czaban, James Washington, Chris Myers, and JT "The Brick."

Programs will include:

  • The First Team on Fox with Steve Czaban
  • Out of Bounds on Fox with Craig Shemon and James Washington
  • The Drive on Fox with Chris Myers
  • Fox Game Time Live with Andrew Siciliano and Krystal Fernandez
  • Fox Game Time ReACT with JT "The Brick"
  • The Third Shift on Fox with Jorge Sedano

WORLDSPACE provides subscribers with more than 40 channels of diverse, commercial-free content, music and information on a 24X7 basis. WORLDSPACE branded content includes channels dedicated exclusively to genres such as jazz, rock, pop, classical and country.
