WORLDSPACE(R) Satellite Radio to Provide Celebrity Interviews & Live Reporting From 2nd Annual Virgin Festival by Virgin Mobile

August Heats Up with Other Hot Program Specials Throughout the Month

SILVER SPRING, Md., July 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WORLDSPACE(R) Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: WRSP), one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services, today announced it will again cover the 2nd Annual Virgin Music Festival live from Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, Md., on Aug. 4 and 5. On Aug. 4, WORLDSPACE listeners can tune in to Bob (Channel 177) for on-site reporting and showcases of artists performing at one of the hottest musical events to reach the U.S. On Aug. 5 subscribers can catch up with their favorite celebrity musicians through back-stage interviews and event highlights on Radio Voyager (Channel 11). Both channels will feature playback of exclusive interviews throughout the month of August.

The world-renowned Virgin Festival, sponsored by Virgin Mobile, is held each summer in the United Kingdom. The U.S.-based Virgin Festival, produced by IMP, premiered last year and its success resulted in an expanded format to two days this year. The Police and the Smashing Pumpkins will be headlining this music extravaganza with the Beastie Boys, Paolo Nutini, The Fratellis, Cheap Trick, Panic! at the Disco, Wu-Tang Clan, 311 and many more. In addition to more than 20 of the world's most popular bands and new artists, the event will also feature two performance stages, a dance tent, a diverse array of vendors and non-profit organizations, plus interactive art installations and performance art.
