WORLDSPACE and CNN International Extend Global Relationship

Three-Year Contract Renewal Ensures Delivery of Leading English-Language News Service to Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa

SILVER SPRING, Md., Aug 14, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- WORLDSPACE(R) Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: WRSP), one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services, today announced that it has extended its global broadcasting relationship with CNN International (CNNI). Under the terms of its three-year contract renewal, WORLDSPACE is licensed to broadcast CNNI, the world leader in international news, in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region. New WORLDSPACE subscribers can listen to CNNI on channel 300.

CNN International delivers the top news stories from around the world from its 4,000 strong staff of journalists based around the world, including major studios in London, Atlanta, and Hong Kong. The channel is available on both of WORLDSPACE's satellites -- AsiaStar(TM) and AfriStar(TM) -- and comprises its trademark breaking news as well as business news, sports news, analysis, current affairs, feature programming and documentaries.
