WorldSpace Satellite Communications Services Now
Available on GSA Schedule

Schedule Inclusion Facilitates Procurement and Aids International Communications for Emergency Responders and Military

SILVER SPRING, Md., Oct. 27-- WorldSpace, Inc., (Nasdaq: WRSP), a leader in satellite-based digital radio services, today announced that its satellite-based communications services are available to U.S. government agencies on the General Services Administration's GSA Schedule 70, Information Technology Solutions. WorldSpace's inclusion on the GSA schedule (GS-35F-0670R) makes it easier for agencies to procure global satellite-based services including emergency broadcasting, distance learning, satellite radio and multicasting.

"The GSA listing facilitates WorldSpace's ability to deliver satellite- based solutions to U.S. government agencies," said Wilson Baker, Jr., senior vice president, WorldSpace. "We are pleased with this opportunity to extend our visibility and reach in the government market, and to deliver mission- critical services both at home and abroad."

Leveraging its extensive technology infrastructure, WorldSpace currently delivers a "voice from home" for U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East and other areas of coverage by communicating messages from loved ones and by offering popular news, music and entertainment via its satellite radio service. WorldSpace also supports emergency broadcasting services related to weather data and natural disasters. Additional WorldSpace services include distance learning, hybrid networking and multicasting.
